I think I may be the worst blogger ever! Or maybe 2011 was just one of the busiest years of my life!!! Well here it goes...
January: We had a rather quiet New Years, but the year really did start off with a bang when Garrett proposed in Minnith on the 23rd of January.
February: Barely a week after Garrett proposed, it was time for the coveted shopping trip with Mom for the wedding dress! I decided that it would be fun to invite Kathy, Garrett's mom, along. I tried on approximately 10 dresses and my decision was made.
March: It was time for Mardi Gras! I love Mardi Gras!!! Garrett, Ryan, and I went with Lara and her boyfriend, Brian, down to Soulard and had a grand time! Thankfully, no one threw up on the Metrolink! I think we may be growing up! (But not much!)
April: We went to a camouflage birthday party for Garrett's brother, Cyle. Abby had all kinds of games from pin the tail on the donkey to a game with bows and arrows! It was very fun!!!
May: Little Lara graduated from Indiana! We had to throw up the K-Triangle one last time at IU! There were also bridal showers to attend! And I survived my first semester of nursing school!! Only three more to go!
June: Needless to say, June was a good time! Garrett took his boards (which he blew out of the water! Great job baby!!!) and I went to my Bachelorette party! We ladies had a grand time at the lake!!
July: What a full month. We went on family vacation two weeks before our wedding! Insane, but awesome! Newport Beach is lovely! Garrett also started year 3 in medical school.
August: Finally was the big day!!!! I can't even explain how wonderful that day was!!! It was such a beautiful, albeit hot, day and I married my best friend! Then we partied the night away. It was full of delicious 80s rock including AC/DC, the theme song of the bachelorette party Africa by Toto, some new favorites including Wagonwheel, and of course some German favorites!
September: This month was full of recovering for a one Garrett. No joke, barely week after the wedding (ten days to be exact) Garrett got appendicitis and had surgery the Wednesday after the wedding. Talk about nuts! At work, they asked me if I poisoned him. Yeah, no. So September was a recovering month and time for school to continue without the madness of a wedding! Sad, but true. (I have so much time when I'm not juggling school, work, and wedding planning!)
October: I guess to make up for September being so dull, October had to be poop-show! We started it out with a bang at Oktoberfest! I do love Oktoberfest!!! I love wearing my dirndl!
Then, it was time for Mizzou's 100th Homecoming! We had such a blast! There was family time and catch up with old friends in the same old ways! It was lovely to see all the Tiger tails representing on the highway!!!! Loved it!!!!
November: It was time to make up for all my slacking off in October time! It was a close call but I managed to survive 2nd semester. Will not be doing that one again! Not worth the stress!!! We also went to Garrett's good friend/sister-in-law's brother's wedding....follow that one? Lol! Neal is in the Air Force as well! Their wedding was lovely!!! Garrett was part of the saber arch, which much to my dismay did not happen at our wedding. DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THAT ONE!
December: After waiting 4 long months, it was time for our honeymoon! Finally!!! We had a wonderful time in Aruba! Garrett was ready to go back at the same time next year. I had to explain to him that there are many other places out there for us to explore and that we would have to check out a few more places before returning to Aruba!!!
2011 was a wonderful year for us! There were so many wonderful things that happened! I wouldn't trade them for the world!!!
Here's to hoping that dreams will continue to come true in 2012!!!!
