Happy President's Day everyone! A very interesting holiday, I must say. I read a news article today talking about President's Day. It was about who the day is supposed to honor. Evidently, this is a disputed thing. Some say just Washington, some say Washington and Jefferson, some others say Washington and Lincoln, and still others say all presidents. It just seemed like an interesting article. I'm sure its not the first time it is debated nor will it be the last until a real official decision is made.

(Huge picture I know.)
Okay now on to the weekend recap. Friday was relatively uneventful. Saturday was way more fun! Saturday morning I went out and about town with my future mother-in-law, my future sister-in-law, and my future niece for a girls' day! It started at the bridal store yet again for some more dresses! Abby is going to be one of two hostesses who will perform the duties of the ushers but in girl form. They are going to rock the dress that the bridesmaids are wearing only in another color. We also looked at flower girl dresses even though we already have on picked out.
We also looked at mother of the groom dresses, but they are so out of date. Seriously. Style has evolved for bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses so why not mother of the bride/groom? So the quest now becomes a quest to find a pretty outfit for the moms to wear. Not a matching outfit, but outfits none the less.
After the fun at the bridal store, it was on to lunch. No girls day out is complete without lunch! We went to Schlafly's Bottleworks for lunch. I think we may have the rehearsal dinner there. No concrete plans yet on that, but its definitely worth looking in to.

After lunch, we headed down the Penzeys Spices. I do not know if you have heard of them, but oh man! So much fun! And so wonderfully fragrant! You will not find a better place for spices. We had so much fun finding and smelling all the spices. Kathy and Abby had been waiting and waiting to buy there spices from Penzeys as we had had this trip planned since just after Christmas. Everyone loaded up on essentials. I wasn't quite sure what to buy but I did get some ground sage, minced garlic, taco seasoning, vanilla sugar, and some hot cocoa mix. Garrett's parents gave me a BBQ spice set for Christmas and Garrett and I have been waiting for it to get warm enough to use it! Needless to say, there will be some spicey things coming our way.

Saturday night was the deer club party. Nothing all the eventful happened while we were there, except that Abby and I started talking honeymoons. I was so excited when earlier this week, Garrett informed me that he does get two weeks off at Christmas and that we could go ahead and start thinking about a honeymoon getaway. The contenders at present at Hawaii and St. Thomas. I am leaning more towards Hawaii because IT-IS-FABULOUS. There is no question about it. Hawaii is the best place on this planet. From its lush beauty to the authentic cuisine to its black sandy beaches to historical sites to its completely romantic feel, Hawaii is my favorite place. (even though I've only been once.)

(No black beaches on this island)
My task now is to convince Garrett that our honeymoon will only happen once and that we shouldn't skip out on it because its a bit expensive. I have to convince him that Hawaii is the place we should go. I don't think it will take much, but it is my task. Wish me luck!!!
Until Next Time!
Lots of Love!!
