I'm Tired and This is Only the Beginning

Well after an obscene absence, I am returning to the blogging world. The wedding is over, much to my sadness. However, it was a blast! Best day of my life! And bonus! The picture cd is already back from the photographer! So get excited b/c those pictures are heading this way.

My problem now is what to do. With the wedding over, I find that I have a whole lot of nothing to do. I guess then that its a good thing that school starts next Monday. Talk about gross. Got to hate that 8 am class on Monday mornings. Today I printed out the first powerpoint for next week! Get excited! I will be learning about...Nursing Management of the Antepartum Patient. WooHoo preggo mothers! I'm pretty excited! I love babies!!! Although, antepartum...that's pre-having baby...so now babies just yet!

We are also attempting to dig ourselves out of the madness that is the apartment right now! There are wedding presents and all my stuff everywhere! I had all last week off and was hoping to be able to get that all cleaned up, but needless to say, that just didn't get accomplished. I am hoping that by the end of the week this week, I am able to get everything cleaned up. I really don't want to start school with that big mess hanging over my head!

Before I wrap up this post, I would like to say good luck to the Kappa Delta ladies!! Have fun with Recruitment! I can't honestly say that I miss Spirit Week, but Recruitment was a good time!! Also good luck to my girls going through Recruitment!!! It sucks we know!!! But its worth it on the other side!!!!

Until Next Time!
Lots of Love!!

I am also sorry but I will probably blow up my blog with wedding stuff during the next week and a half. Sorry ahead of time, but I'm just a little excited!!!! 6 months of planning and it all comes down to these last 12 days!!!! I can hardly believe I'm getting married so soon!!!!

4th of July

This past weekend was 4th of July. It is one of my favorite holidays. I love spending time with family and friends, bbq-ing, and watching fireworks. We spent the weekend at Garrett's family's cabin down in Minnith, Missouri. We had a ton of fun!

Why must you always be making a face in our pictures for the first one? Is this the way that the wedding photos are going to go?! Lol!

See...you take such nice photos....I just don't understand you sometimes silly boy!

Levi in the new helmet.

Clayton didn't think the helmet would fit on his head, but it sure did. I got them both looking at the camera, which is evidently usually quite a feat!

Cameron and Sarah being goofy at the fireworks. Sorry its a bit blurry!

We threw Achilles in the water. Poor baby looked like he was hyperventilating due to the heat. He perked right up after his little swim.

Although, I don't think he was too happy with us for that one though.

Cute one of Garrett and I.

I'm glad to say that we had a lovely, although extremely hot, 4th of July. I'm bummed to report that Garrett has returned to the madness that is medical school. I think I was overly spoiled during these last two weeks when we spent almost every hour together. Now I will get no texts and no emails. Poo. However, he was really excited this morning, so I hope he has a good first day, even if it is just orientation type stuff today. Love you lots baby!

June 2011

Ever get that feeling that you are so busy that you do not notice how much time has passed? I have. At least for the entire month of June, I have known the feeling. Since school got out, I have been running, running, running, and running some more. Everything that has gone down has been a blast! Most of the running has been for parties. And we all know how much I love parties! In the month of June, there were three bridal showers, sending out invitations, moving into a new apartment, a bachelorette party, Garrett's bachelor party, Cardinals games, birthdays, and Step 1. It definitely made for a very busy month.

The bridal showers were tons of fun. I loved seeing everyone and we had some fun!

Cyle, Abby, the boys, and Clarey enjoyed some time on the lake with the paddle boat. So cute!

Garrett had to open most of the presents for me as I had to do it at two other showers. He was a good sport about it. We're pretty excited about all the new things. I think I need to have about 8 dinner parties.

Here's something I thought was interesting. I thought the point of the registry was so that you didn't get multiples of one item...but that doesn't really work if the Target list doesn't get updated. So here we are with our twin clocks! As you can tell, Garrett is thrilled!

My cute-sy little almost-nephew, Clayton, being funny in his overly large hat.

Ryan likes to steal my camera and take interesting photos as I have found out over the last 6 months of him being in the Lou. I look forward to many interesting photos from upcoming events as well.

My other cute-sy almost nephew, Levi, showing me a bug. He likes to bring the nasty ones to me and ask if I want to hold them.

Kathy and Abby did a fantastic job decorating at the cabin for the shower. All red, white, and blue and gorgeous with the Minnith beauty in the background.

Another shower. This one with my mom's lady friends. This was a blast. Best.Shower.Ever. I love all these ladies and at some point or another they have all helped me out in some way. It was amazing to see all of them sitting around me sipping Mimosas and enjoying the moment.

Lara was a very good note taker and also was very entertaining for the crowd around us and she liked to make funny faces at my sisters when they were trying to annoy her.

The best part from the shower was the book of advise they all wrote for me. Some of them serious and some of them were fun and scandalous. Of course, they made me read them out loud! I had a few flashbacks to college when everyone liked to play how red can we make Anna turn...Let me tell you...this was one for the books!

Garrett also hit the big 2-5 on June 9th. Consequently, it is also our good friend, Dan's birthday as well except that he was only turning 24. Walgreens only had one "2" so they had to be 524 instead.

We had dinner at Blueberry Hill and I got the boys a delicious gooey butter cake from Gooey Louie's. Delicious!

After Garrett's birthday there was Step 1. I'm very thankful that Garrett did not have any melt downs right before the test. Actually despite the many, many long hours of studying, he came through the whole thing brilliantly and I could not be more proud of him! He doesn't get his score for a number of weeks, but I'm confident that he kicked some USMLE-booty! Directly after taking his test, we moved into the new apartment, which will be featured in a later entry. It is absolutely fabulous! I am in love with it! I hope with stay put for the next two years because then the next time we would move, the Air Force would be taking care of everything. So I am very much in favor of staying put for two years. The weekend after moving in was my bachelorette party at the Lake. Super time, but more about that in a different entry again. Sorry to leave you hanging. Last weekend was Garrett's bachelor party. I'm going to say nothing about it, save for he had a good time. We also made time last week for a Cards game with Ryan and that is where I will leave you.

Ryan once again stealing my camera for pictures of himself.

Me and my sweetie! I can not believe that in less than 40 days we are getting married. It is blowing my mind. I can hardly wait! Love you lots sweetheart!

Honeymoon Plans

Garrett and I booked our honeymoon last weekend! We are so very excited to be going to Aruba! We are planning on going snorkeling, relaxing on the beach, and exploring this lovely little island off the northern coast of Venezuela!

There's some great snorkeling over a sunken World War 2 ship. (On our last visit, the ship sliced open my leg, and the deckhand poured vodka down it. Good trip!) There is also lots of fun cuisine to try. Lots of nature to explore! Garrett and I are extremely pumped!

Here's the family (mom taking the picture from the boat) in Aruba in 2008. Best.Family.Vacation.Ever.

This is the California Lighthouse. We have a family picture in front of it somewhere, but I can't seem to find it!!!

I didn't want to post too many pictures from our family trip to Aruba, because I don't want to overshadow the fact that Garrett and I will be spending our honeymoon there. I know you will all be jealous when on Christmas, I'm the beach in Aruba while the rest of you will probably be stuck with snow! Love you all!!! :)

In other news, Garrett and I have everything crossed off the checklist that the priest gave us back in February. We went on the Engaged Encounter this weekend. We went into it with a not-so-great attitude. We talked about previous retreats, like high school retreats, and decided that those were always so much fun because all our friends were there. In high school, we really wanted to go. This was not the case for the weekend. Happily, we were pleasantly surprised by the whole weekend. We got to talk about a lot of things that are important, even though we had actually covered all these topics before. The entire weekend was dedicated just to us spending time with each other, which was glorious. No out side distractions or nothing. Just one-on-one time with Garrett. We ended the weekend stronger as a couple, which we are incredibly thankful for.

With the weekend done, all we have left to do for the church is plan the ceremony. What readings to use and what songs to use and who will do what. I'm very excited. Planning our wedding has been delightful so far and I'm pumped to continue to do just that.

Oh, one more thought. My lovely sister, Lara, is graduating from Indiana University this weekend. She' graduating with Bachelor of Science in Business Technologies (I think) as well as her Bachelor of Arts in German Language. At least, I'm pretty sure that those are the degrees she's getting. So I had to put a lovely picture of Lara and I on here. This is Lara and I in Aruba in 2008. I couldn't help myself, I'm still way pumped about Aruba! In this picture, I had gotten a gash in my leg from snorkeling over the sunken ship. Note to self, very strong current, pay attention to what's going on. Anyway, so we had decided to not go in the water at the next place, and stayed on board and enjoyed delicious Caribbean drinks.

Congrats Lara!!!

Until Next Time!

The Great Search for the MOB dress...

Wedding preparations are coming along smoothly. I am waiting on the proposal from the florist. (which I would really be excited if she would hurry up!) Anyway, now about the mother of the bride dress. My mom, grandma, and I set off a few Saturdays ago in search of the MOB dress. My mom has previously been looking at a number of dresses, but couldn't decide what one to go with. She found one that she really liked at the bridal salon, but couldn't bring herself to pay the outrageous price. She looked at borrowing one from one of her many friends who have daughters that have already had their weddings. None of the those were quite going to cut it. So on this Saturday, we were off to find the dress at maybe Macy's or somewhere else.

There were a number of dresses to try on at Macy's. Again, many of them were very pretty, but none of them were quite right. When then decided to head to Dillards. No luck there either. We thought it might be time to change malls. So we headed across town to West County mall where they have a Nordstrom. There were many fabulous dresses there. I even got myself a fabulous rehearsal dinner dress. Its not this exact dress, but it is this cut.

Then it was Mom's turn. She tried on a few dresses that just weren't working for her. My mom is not so much the traditional mother of the bride dress-type mom. She's way too young to dress in something like this!

So after several dresses like the one above, she finally started trying on dresses that were way more fun! And here's what she ended up with!!! Its fabulous!!!

Its a blue with a shimmer to it. I love the one shoulder!! I need to find another dress for myself and I'm thinking that I really could use a sassy dress with one shoulder. What do you think?

Until Next Time!
