Finally...Nursing School

I am very pleased to announce that after many, many months of waiting, I will finally be starting nursing school!

(okay, so its not a picture of the school, but eventually I'll get one )

I have been on a quest to get into this school since about this time last year. It has really not been a fun quest. I applied originally for the Winter 2010 semester, and got wait listed. If there is one thing that I hate more than anything, its wait lists. They make me really angry. However, it no longer matters, as I will be starting this fall. Now all I have to do is be patient until August. (yeah good luck with that, Anna!)

This morning, my mom calls me at work and asks if I'm going to be home tonight. As today is Tuesday, I won't be home because on Tuesday's I go to Garrett's house after work. She then continues to tell me that I have a letter from the Lutheran School. I asked her if the letter was small or large, because in my mind, big equals good and small equals bad. (That could be taken many ways...) Anyway, she said small and so I told her just to open it. She then said, "Oh, oh congratulations!" (which I wasn't expecting at all.) So I have been on cloud 9 all day long. Being on cloud 9 doesn't really help you get any work done...

So to celebrate, Garrett and I are going out for sushi tonight. I love me some sushi.

I just wanted to share with you all my triumph!

Lots of Love!
Until next time!

*Escapades in the Snow*

January is so boring in St. Louis. My wonderful meteorologist tells me weekly to expect snow. However, for some reason the snow storms decide to go just north of just south of St. Louis, depriving me of all that beautiful snow. Do you know how many times it has actually snowed? Like twice. The first time I would hardly call it snow. It was more a light dusting. However, the second time was more like it. Now I know that the rest of the Midwest got tons of snow, but we just recently enjoyed our first snow of the year. (At least it was the first in my mind.) In comparison to what the rest of the Midwest got, we had very little snow. Never fear! It was enough to play and that's all that mattered.

Garrett and I set off on our adventure in the late afternoon. The temperature had risen from its bitterly cold 0 degrees to a balmy 20 degrees. This made me want to sing a little something like this, "Havin' a heat wave. A tropical heat wave. The temperature's rising. It isn't surprising. She certainly can can-can!" Okay, okay, back to business. But I was singing that song in the snow. Anyway, Garrett took off down the hill, or at least he thought he was going to take off. He went smack right down on the snow and the sled did not go anywhere. I was laughing my butt off. Oh it was very entertaining.

Then finally he figured it out and then he really was off.

I wanted to take Achilles on a ride. Little buddy jumped on my lap and away we went.

All the way down the hill.

We also got Achilles a new toy. We call him Super-Duck-or-Chicken-or-Whatever- the-Little-Thing is. There was quite a bit of playing involved there.

We played until we were cold and decided it was time to go in, but that's when Achilles decided he didn't want to go in. I think Rachel would call him the Escape Artist. (haha) Achilles took off down the street, and Garrett and I chased him for awhile then gave up. Eventually, the little bugger came back. Needless to say...someone was in big trouble.

At last, we were all inside and toasty warm. The weather has since been pleasantly warm. (Unusual for January) It has been a nice break from the bitterly cold weather that we have been having.

Until next time!

Lots of Love!
